Reward Meal

What’s better than the weekend? A reward meal on St. Patricks Day weekend.

Here’s me getting ready to enjoy my reward meal for the week. (Bad hair hidden under hat)

You should have one reward meal per week. Yes, only one per week. Even with a reward meal I like to keep it healthy otherwise I just end up feeling heavy and sluggish. Not enjoyable…and it ends up being more of a punishment than a reward. Choose something you really love but that won’t completely derail all your hard work from the week. The weekend is a time to enjoy yourself with family and friends. It should not be a time to gorge yourself after a week of planning, eating well, and working out.

Today I opted for the Huevos Tortilla from Sonsie on Newbury st. – 2 eggs sunny side up (LOVE runny eggs), salsa, black beans on 2 corn tortillas with a side of chorizo sausage (that’s the grilled mass on the plate).

To keep myself on track I only had one of the corn tortillas and a small amount of the black beans. Delicious!

Of course seeing as it IS St. Patty’s day weekend I couldn’t very well have brunch without at least one drink….cue Bloody Mary…

And here’s lunch (3 hours later). A salad from Boloco – salad, hummus, salsa, white meat chicken, feta, and no dressing. Apparently today is salsa day. 

I eat every 2-3 hours. In fact, in one hour it’ll be time for a shake…then I hit the gym for legs.
